Kyle McCarter is a Republican member of the Illinois State Senate, representing District 54 since 2013. McCarter was first appointed to the Illinois Senate in November of 2009, and represented District 51 from 2009 to 2013.[1].

McCarter graduated with his Bachelor's degree from Oral Roberts University in Accounting. In addition to being a Senator, McCarter is a small business owner.

McCarter won election in the 2012 election for Illinois State Senate District 54. McCarter was to face incumbent John Jones in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012, but Jones withdrew on January 4, leaving McCarter unopposed.[3] McCarter defeated Danny L. Stover (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5][6]
