A Lake Forest Park City Public Safety Levy Increase measure was on the August 17, 2010 ballot in the city of Lake Forest Park, which is in King County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 1,129 (22.03%)
  • NO 3,995 (77.97%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to increase the current property tax rate in the city to $1.85 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further five years which would be used to pay for governmental services such as public safety and park maintenance in the city.[2] Opponents stated that the ballot language was too vague, no where did it state that the additional money collected would actually go towards these services. They also noted that the city government did not offer to cut back on staff, but quickly went to those services needed by residents as that which would be cut if the tax is not approved.[3]
