Larry Tidemann (b. April 13, 1948) is a Republican member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 7. Tidemann was elected to the South Dakota State Senate in 2010.

Tidemann joined the South Dakota State House of Representatives in 2005. He served in that position until 2011, representing the 7th District. Tidemann and his wife, Gail, have two children.

Tidemann earned his BS and MS from South Dakota State University in 1970 and 1972, respectively.

Tidemann worked for South Dakota State University's Dairy Science Department as a Graduate Research Assistant from 1970 to 1972. He then worked as a County Extension Agent for South Dakota State University Cooperative Extension Service from 1972 to 1983. From 1983 to 2004, he continued his work for South Dakota State University Cooperative Extension Service as Director/Associate Dean/Agriculture Program Leader.

Tidemann won re-election in the 2012 election for District 7 of the South Dakota State Senate. Tidemann was unopposed in the Republican primary on June 5 and defeated Pamela Merchant (D) in the general election which took place on November 6.[1]
