This measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for road improvement and maintenance costs in the township.

The question on the ballot:
|Shall the tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes within Leslie Township imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution be increased as a new levy within the Township by 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) for five (5) years, 2012 through 2016, inclusive, for funding and defraying, in whole or in part, the cost of improvement, maintenance and repair of roads within Leslie Township; and shall the Township levy such millage for said purpose thereby raising, in the first year of the levy, an estimated Seventy-Five Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($75,000.00) of revenue?|
