Medlin is running in the 2011 election for Virginia House District 19. He was uncontested in the August 23 primary and will be opposed by Jerry Johnson (R) and incumbent Lacey Putney (I) in the November 8 general election.

Medlin received 20% of the vote, losing to incumbent Lacey Putney in the general election on November 3, 2009. Constitution Party candidate William Smith also ran, receiving 15%.[1]
