The Lieutenant Governor of the State of Nevada is an elected Constitutional officer, the second ranking officer of the Executive branch, and the first officer in line to succeed the Governor of Nevada. The Lieutenant Governor is popularly elected every four years by a plurality and is limited to two terms.

The Lieutenant Governor serves as the President of the Senate when the Legislature is in session. The Lieutenant Governor also serves as acting governor when the Governor is out of state or otherwise unable to serve. The Lieutenant Governor also serves as the Chair of the Nevada Commission on Tourism and the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. [1]
