A Lincoln Township Fire Levy Increase measure is on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Lincoln, which is in Newaygo County.

This measure seeks to increase the current fire levy to one set at a rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the previously voted increase in the tax rate limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Lincoln Township of 1.5 mills ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value), as reduced to 1.4980 mills ($1.4980 per $1,000 of taxable value) by required millage rollbacks, be renewed and increased by 0.0020 mill up to the original voted 1.5 mills ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) and shall Lincoln Township be authorized to levy such millage annually on all taxable property for four (4) years, 2013 through 2016, inclusive, for the purpose of providing fire protection services?[2]
