Linda Lopez (b. September 10, 1948) has been a Democratic member of the Arizona State Senate since 2009. She represents the 29th district and is currently serving as the senate's Minority Whip.[1]

Lopez attended the University of California, Berkley, from 1966-1968. Lopez then earned her BA in Women's Studies at the University of Arizona in 1990.

Lopez worked as a Therapeutic Foster Parent at La Hacienda from 1978 to 1988. After earning her degree, she worked as a Clinical Supervisor at La Frontera Center from 1991 to 2003. Shortly thereafter, Lopez worked as a Program Development Coordinator until 2006. In 2006 she became a Community Relations Coordinator for La Frontera Center and has worked there since.

Lopez served as Representative/Assistant Minority Leader in the Arizona State House of Representatives from 2001-2008.

Lopez is one of 29 Arizona legislators (20 Republicans and 9 Democrats) who accepted illegal gifts from the Fiesta Bowl in the form of all-expense paid trips and free football tickets. She ranks second in the amount received, $16,847, over five trips in five years.[6]
