She defeated Scott Benson, Cheryl Clark, Rose Jones, David Lankford-Parnel, Travis Reece, Gregory Robinson, Anthony Watts and Donnie Whitley in the August 3 Democratic primary. She faced Damian Mitchell (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.
