Howza won election to the District 2 Seat in 2010. She defeated Scott Benson, Cheryl Clark, Rose Jones, David Lankford-Parnel, Travis Reece, Gregory Robinson, Anthony Watts and Donnie Whitley in the August 3 Democratic primary. She defeated Damian Mitchell (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.
