Lisa Howza is a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 2nd District since January 1, 2011.

Democrat Lisa Howze of Detroit is the current state senator for the 2nd House District of the Michigan House of Representatives, and is in her first term. She defeated Scott Benson, Cheryl Clark, Rose Jones, David Lankford-Parnel, Travis Reece, Gregory Robinson, Anthony Watts and Donnie Whitley in the August 3 Democratic primary. She defeated Damian Mitchell (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.

None. A Certified Public Accountant, Howze served four years as president of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) - Detroit Chapter.

Political Campaign History

The 2nd House district is considered one of Michigan’s most liberal and is solidly Democratic, so like most Michigan state legislators her real election contests have been primaries.
