The Washington State Constitution has been amended 102 times since its adoption in 1889. The first amendment was adopted in 1894, and it was amended most recently in 2007, when it was amended four times.

Although the State of Washington is well-known as an initiative and referendum state, the initiative process in the state does not apply to constitutional amendments. Amendments to the constitution can only be proposed by the Washington State Legislature or a constitutional convention, not through the citizen initiative process.
