Lou Tobacco is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly. He has represented District 62 since winning a special election in March 2007.

Tobacco's professional experiences include assistant director of contract oversight, Borough of Staten Island; legislative aide for New York State Assembly's Intern Program; senior professional healthcare representative for Pfizer Incorporated; summer intern for Staten Island Borough President Guy Molinari; and congressional intern for United States Representative Guy Molinari.

Tobacco earned a BA in political science from State University of New York Albany. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children; Madison and Christian.[1]

Tobacco ran unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary. Tobacco defeated Albert Albanese (D) in the general election on November 2.[3] In addition to his slot on the Republican Party ticket, he was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and the Conservative Party.

On November 4, 2008 Tobacco won re-election to the New York State Assembly, District 62, defeating opponent Albert Albanese (D).
