Louisiana down ballot state executive elections, 2011

Three down ballot state executive positions were up for election in Louisiana 2011. These include: treasurer, Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry and Commissioner of Insurance. The Primary election was held on October 22, 2011. Although a runoff election was scheduled for November 19, 2011, all state executive races were decided in the primary and none appeared on the ballot.
The deadline for candidates to file was September 8.

The Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry election of 2011 was decided on October 22, 2011 in the primary election. Incumbent Republican Michael Strain captured more than 50% of the vote in the blanket primary, winning re-election outright. The Louisiana general election was held on Saturday, November 19, 2011[1] but the office of agriculture and forestry commissioner did not appear on the ballot. Polling hours on all election days are from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, local time.

Polling hours on all election days are from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, local time.

The Louisiana State Treasurer election of 2011 was scheduled to be held on November 19, 2011, with the primary on October 22, 2011. However, incumbent John Neely Kennedy (R) did not face any opposition, guaranteeing him a fourth term as state treasurer.[3]
