Evans is a registered dietitian and member of the Parks and Recreation board in Fraser, Michigan. She is also a member of several civic organizations including the Fraser First Booster Club, the American Diabetes Association, Gleaners, the Fair Foods Network, and the Suburbs Alliance.
She received her B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from Madonna University in 2005, Master's Certification in Complementary Medicine and Wellness in 2011, and Master of Public Health from Benedictine University in 2012.
Evans will face Phil Rode in the August 7 Republican primary for District 31. The general election is on November 6.
Evans was a Republican candidate for District 31 in the Michigan House of Representatives in the November 2, 2010 state legislative elections. She was defeated in the Republican primary on August 3, 2010.
