Madison is a city in Dane County, Wisconsin, and is the capital city of Wisconsin. As of 2013, its population was 243,344.[1]

City Council

The Madison City Council - called the Common Council - is the city's primary legislative body. It is also responsible for approving and adopting the city budget.

Commissions, Boards and Committees

The city council is assisted by several commissions, boards and committees, which are responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and commenting upon city policies and legislation. In addition to elected city council members, non-elected citizens may also sit on select advisory boards.[3]
