Maggie Brooks was a 2012 Republican Conservative and Independence Party candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 25th Congressional District of New York. She was defeated by Louise Slaughter on November 6, 2012.[1]

Brooks ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent New York's 25th District. She was unopposed in the Republican, Conservative, and Independence party primaries[2] and faced incumbent Louise Slaughter (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3] She was defeated by Louise Slaughter on November 6, 2012.[4]

Brooks lost election to the U.S. House in 2012. During that election cycle, Brooks's campaign committee raised a total of $1,464,442 and spent $1,447,864.[5]

On October 15, 2012, quarterly reports were submitted by campaigns to the Federal Election Commission. The political blog Daily Kos did an analysis of the fundraising figures and found Republican challenger Maggie Brooks had more cash-on-hand than Democratic incumbent Louise Slaughter in the third quarter. Brooks had $857,000 in cash-on-hand and Slaughter had $411,000 in cash-on-hand.[6]
