Maggie Brooks was a 2012 Republican Conservative and Independence Party candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 25th Congressional District of New York. She was defeated by Louise Slaughter on November 6, 2012.[1]

Brooks ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing New York's 25th District. She was unopposed in the Republican, Conservative, and Independence party primaries[2] and faced incumbent Louise Slaughter (D) in the November 6, 2012, general election.[3] She was defeated by Louise Slaughter on November 6, 2012.[4]

The political blog Daily Kos did an analysis of the fundraising figures and found Republican challenger Maggie Brooks has more cash-on-hand than Democratic incumbent Louise Slaughter in the third quarter. Brooks has $857,000 in cash-on-hand and Slaughter has $411,000 in cash-on-hand.[8]
