The Maine Moose Hunting Initiative, on the ballot as Question 1, was on the November 8, 1983 ballot in Maine. It was an initiative to repeal a law in the state that provided for a hunting season on moose. It failed, which meant that there continued to be a hunting season in Maine for moose.

The question on the ballot was, ""Shall Maine Repeal the Hunting Season on Moose?"

  • In favor: 121,125
  • Opposed: 185,603
