The Maine Campaign Contribution Limits Initiative, on the ballot as Question 2 was an act to limit spending and contributions in campaigns for governor in the state. It appeared on the November 7, 1989 general election ballot, where it was defeated.

  • In favor: 98,558
  • Opposed: 126,140

The question on the ballot was:

""Do You Favor the Changes in Maine Law Concerning Campaign Finances for Candidates for Governor, as Proposed by Citizen Petition?"
