A Maine Slot Machine People's Veto Vote, appearing on the ballot as Measure 1, was on the March 11, 1980 ballot in Maine as a veto referendum. Voters were asked if they wanted to ratify a recent act of the Maine State Legislature that banned slot machines in the state.

Voters rejected the ban:

  • In favor: 14,520.
  • Opposed: 32,131.

The language on the ballot said:

Shall "An Act to Amend the Laws Relating to Games of Chance," which Prohibits the Licensing the Games of Chance Conducted with Gambling Machines, Become Law?
