A Maine Weight of Commercial Vehicles Veto Vote was on the 1974 ballot in Maine as a veto referendum. Voters were asked if they wanted to ratify a recent act of the Maine State Legislature that changed weights and related provisions for commercial vehicles in the state.

Voters rejected the legislature's new statute:

  • In favor: 123,501.
  • Opposed: 197,946.

The language on the ballot said:

Shall Chapter 796 of the Public Laws of 1973, Enacted by the First Special session of the 106th Legislature, and Approved by the Governor, Entitled, "An Act to Change Weights and related Provisions for Commercial Vehicles", become Law?
