Mamie Locke is a Democratic member of the Virginia State Senate. She has been a Senator since 2004, representing the 2nd district.

Locke received a Bachelor's Degree at Tougaloo College and a Masters and Ph.D. at Atlanta University. Additionally Locke has a Certificate in Management Development from Harvard University, a Certificate in Archives Administration from Emory University/Georgia Department of Archives and History.

In addition to serving as a senator, Locke acts as Dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Hampton University. Locke is also a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Locke is running for re-election to the District 2 seat of the Virginia State Senate. She is unopposed in the August 23 primary. She will face Thomas Harmon, IV in the November 8 general election.

2007

On Nov. 6, 2007, Locke won re-election to the 2nd District Seat in the Virginia State Senate.[1]
