Manford Steele (b. February 6, 1940) is a Republican member of the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 12.

Steele earned his BA in Business Administration from Bellevue University in 1988.

Steele served as Petty Officer 3rd Class in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961. He then worked as Lineman/Installer/Tester/Repairman for Qwest from 1966 to 1975. He also worked for Qwest as Employment/Placement Supervisor from 1961 to 1990, and as Human Services Supervisor from 1975 to 1990. Steele then worked as Administrative Assistant to the President for Life Publishers from 1990 to 1991. He was an Administrative Services Coordinator for ICI University (Presently Global University) from 1991 to 1999 as well.

Steele joined the South Dakota State House of Representatives in 2007. He has served in that position since, representing the 12th District. He currently serves as Majority Whip. Steele and his wife, Barbara, have six children.

Steele won re-election in the 2012 election for South Dakota House of Representatives District 12. Steele ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 5 and won re-election in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]

Steele ran for re-election to one of two seats in District 12 of the South Dakota House of Representatives. Also running were Paula Johnson (D), Curt Rust (D) and Hal Wick (R). Casey Murschel (R) was eliminated in the primary.[2] Steele (R) and Hal Wick (R) won election in the November 2 general election.[3]
