A Manistee Lake School District Non Residential Property Tax Renewal measures will be on the May 3, 2011 ballot in the Manistee Lake school district which is in Manistee County.

This measure seeks to renew the current non residential levy which would be set at a rate of $18 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to help pay for operational costs in the school district.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Manistee Area Public Schools, Manistee and Mason Counties, Michigan, be increased by 18 mills ($18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 5 years, 2011 to 2015, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2011 is approximately $4,230,389 (this is a renewal of millage which expired with the 2010 tax levy)?[2]
