Marci Francisco is a Democratic member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 2 since 2005. She was Mayor of the Lawrence, Kansas from 1981-1983 and City Commissioner from 1979-1983.

Francisco works as an analyst for the KU Center for Sustainability.

Francisco graduated from the University of Kansas in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Design and again in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in Architecture.

Francisco won re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas State Senate District 2. Francisco ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated Ronald B. Ellis (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4]
