Elections for the office of Illinois House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election took place March 18, 2014. The general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was December 2, 2013. Incumbent Marcus Evans ran unopposed in the Democratic primary and will face Lynn Renee Franco (R) in the general election. Although Lynn Renee Franco (R) was removed from the ballot on January 10, 2014, she successfully filed to run again on June 2, 2014.[3][4][5]

Evans won re-election in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 33. Evans joined the race after the March 20 Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012. He replaced Marlow Colvin (D) on the ballot, who won the primary prior to resigning. [6][7][8]
