Markey is running in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 30. She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. Anthony P. Nunziato ran unopposed in the Republican primary; he is also running on the Conservative Party ticket. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]

Markey ran unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary. She defeated Anthony Nunziato (R) in the general election on November 2.[4] Nunziato was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and the Conservative Party.
