The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Steve Siegel defeated Tom Rubel in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Mark Chelgren was unopposed in the Republican primary. Siegel will face Chelgren in the general election.[3][4]
