Mark Greene was a 2014 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the 12th Congressional District of Texas.[1]

Campaign themes

Greene's campaign website lists Political Reform as his top concern. The website states, "Mark, who ran for the same seat in 2000, is refusing PAC contributions, and promises to focus on reforming the political system, which he describes as “hopelessly broken.” In addition to reversing the destructive effects of Citizens United, he also cites the hyper-partisanship in Washington, and particularly partisan gerrymandering, as key targets of his political reform efforts." It also lists additional issues:[3]

  • Ensuring equal treatment under the law for all Americans
  • Restoring accountability in America’s financial system
  • Simplifying the tax code
  • Protecting women’s privacy rights
  • Enhancing access to quality healthcare
