Mark Venie (born August 27, 1954) is a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 44 of the Michigan House of Representatives. He ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in 2006.

Biography

Venie is a technical writer by trade, and the owner of Octagon Writing Group. He is a 1972 graduate of Waterford Township High School. He attended Oakland Community College and the GM-AUW Apprentice School from 1977-81.

Venie is an elder at Tri-County Christian Church, and coached AYSO soccer for 15 years.[1][2]

Elections for the office of Michigan House of Representatives will consist of a primary election on August 5, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Mark Venie is unopposed in the Democratic primary. Liz Fessler Smith, Dennis Garlick, Jim Runestad and Russ Tierney face off in the Republican primary.[3]
