A Marquette County 911 Emergency Levy Renewal measure will be on the August 7, 2012 ballot in Marquette County.

This measure seeks to renew and increase the current 911 emergency levy to one set at a rate of $.49 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further six years in order to continue to pay for 911 emergency services in the county.[1]

For the continued operation of the Marquette County Central Dispatch System, including the enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System, shall the County of Marquette be authorized to levy up to .4970 mills for a period of six years, from 2012 - 2017, both years inclusive, on all taxable property within Marquette County? The millage will be a renewal of 0.4862 of a mill (48.62 cents per $1,000.00 of taxable value of real and personal property) and an increase of .0108 (1.08 cents per $1,000.00 of real and personal property). The millage will raise approximately $1,075,543 in the first year.
