The Maryland Association of Counties is a government sector lobbying associations in Maryland. It is the Maryland chapter of the National Association of Counties.

2009 conference

The 2009 MACo conference addressed budgetary issues, as the state and counties faced hundreds of millions in budget cuts. Governor Martin O'Malley and his administration had decided to only send "essential staff" to the conference.[1] They also encouraged car pooling and room sharing, and requested that staffers to count their personal time as such.

Facebook pictures

After the conference, one staffer posted 115 Facebook pictures, many of them showing drinking and drunk staffers, and a generally easy-going affair.[2]
