The Massachusetts attorney general election will take place on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Martha Coakley (D) was first elected in 2006 has opted to for Governor of Massachusetts rather than seek re-election to her current post.[1]

Massachusetts is one of 21 states with a mixed primary system. Unaffiliated voters are allowed to vote in the primary election. They may choose which party ballot they wish to vote on and still remain unaffiliated.[2]
