Matt Jones is a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives. He has represented the 12th district since 2011. He previously served from 1986 to 1993 as well.

Jones earned his BA in Political Science from Colorado State University. He went on to receive his MA in Natural Resource Policy from Colorado State University.

Jones is a part-time wildland firefighter. He has also worked as an open space and trails planner.

Jones defeated Jake Williams in the August 10 primary. He defeated Republican Jeffrey Ilseman and Libertarian Bo Shaffer in the November 2 general election.
