Matt Jones is a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives. He has represented the 12th district since 2011. He previously served from 1986 to 1993 as well.

Jones earned his BA in Political Science from Colorado State University. He went on to receive his MA in Natural Resource Policy from Colorado State University.

Jones is a part-time wildland firefighter. He has also worked as an open space and trails planner.

Jones is running for election to the Colorado State Senate in 2012.

Jones is running in the 2012 election for Colorado State Senate District 17. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 26, 2012. He will face Charlie Plagainos (R) in the general election which takes place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]
