Matt Jones is a Democratic member of the Colorado State Senate, representing District 17. He was first elected to the chamber in 2012.

Jones served in the Colorado House of Representatives, representing the District 12 from 2011 to 2013. He previously served from 1986 to 1993 as well.


Jones earned his B.A. in Political Science from Colorado State University and his M.A. in Natural Resource Policy from Colorado State University. His professional experience includes working as as a part-time wildland firefighter and as an open space and trails planner.
