Matt Malone is the Massachusetts Secretary of Education. He has served in this position since being sworn in by Gov. Deval Patrick (D) on January 14, 2013.[1]


Malone began his career in education as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher in the Boston public schools in 1993. He served as a headmaster in Boston and as a special assistant to the superintendent in San Diego, California. For four years Malone was Superintendent of Schools in Swampscott and was Superintendent of the Brockton Public Schools from 2009 to 2013.[1]
