Woodmancy was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 18th District. Woodmancy was seeking the nomination on the Democratic ticket. ^[2] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, with the primary taking place on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Aaron Schock is seeking re-election on the Republican ticket.

Woodmancy was defeated by candidate Steve Waterworth in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012.^[1] Incumbent Aaron Schock ran unopposed in the Republican primary.^[1]
