Melanie Meier (b. August 25, 1967) is a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 41 since 2013. She previously represented District 40 from 2011 to 2013.

Meier served as an Army Air Defense Artillery Officer in 1990 and transferred in 1994 to Military Intelligence, serving in both Fort Hood, Texas and Seoul, South Korea. She is also a member of the Reserves.

Meier graduated from the University of Kansas in 1989 with a degree in Economics. She then went on to earn her Masters in Management from Troy State University 1998.

Meier won re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 41. She ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated incumbent Jana Goodman (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
