Michael Ashford is a Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 48. Ashford was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2010.

He has worked in service as a Unit Director for the Boy's and Girl's Club, and later for the YMCA/JCC, eventually becoming the Vice President of Urban Affairs for YMCA/JCC. He served on the Toledo City Council beginning in 2002, and in 2007 was elected president of the Toledo City Council.

He got his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and his master's degree from Spring Arbor University. He and his wife Ruth live in Toledo with their children.
