Michael Dacquisto was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of California.


Dacquisto earned his B.A. in Economics from Stanford University in 1975. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School in 1978. Dacquisto has worked as a self-employed attorney since receiving his law degree. He has also been employed as a bankruptcy trustee since 1997.


Campaign themes


Dacquisto stated the following about his political philosophy in a biographical submission to Ballotpedia:

"I am a conservative. The debt and deficit are out of control. This country is bankrupt. I will not raise the debt which will force Wa shying ton to reduce spending to sustainable levels"[1]

Dacquisto ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent California's 1st District. He was defeated in the open primary on June 5, 2012.[2][3]
