Estes was defeated by Democratic candidate Dawn Hill in the November 2 general election. Democratic incumbent Peter Bowman did not run for re-election.[1]

In the June 8th primary election, Estes defeated candidate Sarah Lewin by only three votes, a margin of 1,548-1,545. [2]
