Michael Ferguson is an at-large member of the Danbury Board of Education. He first won election to the board as a Republican candidate against seven other candidates on November 5, 2013.


Ferguson studied Political Science at Western Connecticut State University. He ran unsuccessfully for the Danbury Zoning Commission in 2011 and currently serves as an alternate on the Danbury Planning Commission.[1][2]

Ferguson won election to the board against seven other candidates on November 5, 2013. He ran as part of a Republican slate including incumbents Eileen Alberts and Gary Falkenthal as well as challengers Charles Alpuche and Ralph Pietrafesa.

What was at stake?

Five seats were at stake. Incumbents Eileen Alberts (R), Gary Falkenthal (R), Richard Jannelli (D) and Kathleen Molinaro (R) were on the ballot. Only Falkenthal lost his re-election bid. The Danbury Republican Town Committee endorsed a slate of five candidates in 2013 while the Democratic Town Committee endorsed three candidates.
