The Michigan Attorney General is the attorney general for the state of Michigan. Attorney general is an elected office in the state of Michigan. The attorney general oversees the Office of the Attorney General which is in charge of prosecuting the laws of the state of Michigan.

The current officeholder is Mike Cox.

Term limits

Per the Michigan constitution of 1963, it is a four year term of office, and as amended in 1993, there is a two term limit. Originally this was an appointed position until the 1950 State Constitution.
