The Ban on Insurance Coverage of Abortion Initiative is a indirect initiated state statute in Michigan that may appear in the general election on November 4, 2014. If enacted this measure would prohibit both public and private health insurance companies from covering abortions unless individuals purchase a supplemental policy.[1]

The measure is sponsored by the group No Taxes for Abortion Insurance.[1]

In order to place the measure on the November 2014 ballot supporters are required to collect a minimum of 258,088 valid signatures by May 28, 2014.

On May 22, 2013, the Board of State Canvassers approved the form of the petitions, allowing supporters to begin collecting signatures.[2]
