Mike Boland (b. August 20, 1942) was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 36 of the Illinois State Senate.

Boland was a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 71st District from 1995 to 2011.

Boland is an educator.[1]

Boland ran in the 2012 election for Illinois State Senate District 36. Boland was defeated by incumbent Mike Jacobs in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4]

Boland did not run for re-election to the House in 2010 as he decided to run for Lieutenant Governor on the Democrat ticket[5]. He lost in the statewide primary on February 2, 2010[6][7].

2008

On November 4, 2008, Democrat Mike Boland won re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives District 71 receiving 30,951 votes, ahead of Republican Lawrence Bruckner who received 17,503 votes.[8]

On November 7, 2006, Democrat Mike Boland won re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives District 71 receiving 19,063 votes ahead of Republican Steven M. Haring who received 17,132 votes.[9]
