Mike Cheokas is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 138. Cheokas represented the district, previously the 134th District, since 2005. He served as a Democrat until switching parties following the November 2010 election.

Cheokas works as a businessman.

He is Co-Chair of the Rosalynn Carter Institute of the Americus Kiwanis Club, and on the New Horizons Habitat for Humanity Board.[1]

Switches party affiliation

Following his unopposed victory in the November 2, 2010 general election, Cheokas switched his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. He stated, "My fiscally conservative voting record reflects that effort and the views of my constituents, which ultimately led me to join the House Republican Caucus."[2]

Cheokas ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 138. Cheokas ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. Kevin T. Brown ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. [3] Cheokas defeated Kevin T. Brown in the general election.[4]
