Mike Cosby recall, Worth County, Georgia (2013)
An effort to recall Chairman Mike Cosby in Worth County, Georgia, from his position was launched in late October 2013. However, supporters of the effort failed to submit sufficient signatures by the November 27 deadline. The effort did not go to a vote.
Arguments for Cosby's recall included, "Chairman Cosby has violated the Sunshine Laws on at least 12 separate occasions. These acts have been documented with the Attorney General’s Office. Additionally Chairman Cosby, without approval of the BOC did cash in a $100,000.00 CD belonging to Worth County."
The effort was organized by Mike Shivok, Robert Clem of Ty Ty, William Cash of Doerun and Patricia Palmer of Sylvester. District-3 County Commissioner Bettye Bozeman participated in the petition circulation effort.
In response to the recall, Cosby said, ""No I'm not going to resign, I certainly am not going to resign because I feel like I've been doing my job, the people who are wanting this recall are those who do not want me to do what I'm doing."
