Mike Jackson has been a Republican member of the Texas State Senate representing District 11 since 1999.

Jackson attended Louisiana State University and also later attended Louisiana Technical University.

In addition to being a senator, he also holds the title of contractor and president of Force Corporation Industrial Construction and Maintenance. Prior to his position in the state senate, Jackson was a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1989 to 1999.[1]

Jackson is seeking election to the U.S. House in 2012, instead of seeking re-election to the Texas State Senate.

Jackson is running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Texas' 36th District. He is running against Jerry Doyle, Jim Engstrand, Ky D. Griffin, Keith Casey, Chuck Meyer, Kim Morrell, Lois Dickson Myers, Steve Stockman, Stephen Takach, Daniel Whitton, and Tim Wintill in the May 29, 2012, Republican primary.

2008

On Nov. 4, 2008, Jackson won re-election to the 11th District Seat in the Texas State Senate, defeating opponents Joe Jaworski and Cliff Messina.[2]

Jackson raised $1,075,483 for his campaign while Jaworski raised $1,152,151 and Messina raised $0.[3]
